Gods Attributes
God Is Love
There are mysteries about God that our human minds will never fully grasp. Our language is built on created things, so it cannot perfectly describe the Creator. Yet God has revealed enough of Himself that we can understand certain essential attributes of His nature. And at the center of everything God reveals about Himself is this truth: **God is Love.**
Below are key attributes that help us glimpse who God is.
God Exists Absolutely
God is the very source of existence itself. There is no difference between *what* He is and *that* He is. He has no cause, no beginning, and no dependence. God is identical with the fullness of being — this is what it means to say God exists absolutely.
God Is Infinite
God is utterly without limit. “Infinite” does not mean large or long-lasting; it means **without boundaries**. If God is the source of all being, nothing can restrict Him. Therefore, God must be infinite.
God Is One
If God is infinite, there cannot be another infinite being beside Him. God is one.
God Is Spiritual
God is not material. Physical bodies are limited by space, time, and change. God, being unlimited, must be immaterial — that is, spiritual.
God Is Eternal
God is not bound by time or change. He is eternal (non‑temporal). Because He is not limited by time, He can act within time.
God Is Transcendent and Immanent
Transcendent: God is not part of the universe. If He were, He would be limited by it. He is the Creator, wholly “other” than His creation.
Immanent: Yet God is also present to all things, sustaining them at every moment. If He stopped giving existence, everything would cease to be. “In Him we live and move and have our being.”
God Is Intelligent
Creation displays order, purpose, and intelligibility — from the laws of nature to the complexity of DNA. Such design points to an intelligent Creator. God’s intelligence is not like ours; it is infinitely greater.
God Is Good
God is the source of all goodness. Evil is not a “thing” but a lack of what should be. Since God is the fullness of being, He cannot lack anything — therefore He cannot be evil. God is perfect goodness.
God Is Love
Scripture reveals that God’s deepest identity is love. He is “merciful and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” His love is stronger than a father’s, deeper than a mother’s, and more faithful than a bridegroom’s. His love is everlasting.
The ultimate proof of this love is that **God gave His only Son** to save us. Jesus reveals the very heart of God.
